Kremmling Man Mailed White Powder to Dept. of Revenue – Faces Federal Charges

Authorities say a man from Kremmling mailed white powder to a state Department of Revenue employee.  O’Neill, 51, was chated by the U.S. District court under laws prohibiting the use of false information or perpetrating hoaxes that are relatable to terrorism offense.  If convicted, O’Neill faces up to five years in federal prison and up  to a $250,000 fine.

The letter initiated an evacuation of more than 500 state employees from the building last week. O’Neill was arrested on Tuesday, without incident, by the FBI.

O’Neill sent several documents in the powder laden envelope, including documents showing that he owed $15,427 in back taxes from 2006 and 2007.  The state was in process of issuing a lien to collect $8,694 of the amount.  The lien was in dispute.  Click Here For More Details…

As a former Assistant U.S Attorney, I have had experience in many cases like these. These are very serious charges and if you are accused of a federal crime, you will need a very good attorney experienced in federal criminal charges. As an Assistant District Attorney, I tried over 70 criminal jury trials, ranging from murder, armed robbery, sexual assaults of adults and children and kidnapping, to DUI, assault and simple drug possession.
