Deferred prosecution is reserved for people with the cleanest criminal records. It’s unlikely you will qualify if you have ever been in trouble with the law before because this requires the consent of the prosecutor and the judge. Accordingly, this is reserved for those people who have simply done something so out-of-character that they will get a “do-over” to correct the mistake.
