Deferred prosecution is essentially a long probation that results in a dismissal of the charge without the entry of a guilty plea.  You will appear before the judge and enter into a contract with the court.  This contract specifies the same conditions found in a regular probation.  If you successfully complete your terms, the court will dismiss the charge.
