Examples of First Degree Assaults:
Intend to cause serious bodily injury using a deadly weapon;
Intend to disfigure another person seriously and permanently;
Engage in conduct creating grave risk of death, and cause serious bodily injury;
Threaten member of law enforcement, emergency services or judiciary with deadly weapon.
Examples of Second Degree Assaults:
Intend to cause bodily injury using a deadly weapon;
Cause bodily injury to member of law enforcement or emergency services;
Recklessly cause serious bodily injury with a deadly weapon;
Intentionally poison or drug another person;
Use physical force against person of authority while in custody.
Examples of Third Degree Assaults:
Recklessly cause bodily injury to another person;
Recklessly cause bodily injury with a deadly weapon;
Cause member of law enforcement or emergency services to come into contact with certain substances.
Examples of Menacing
Knowingly threaten someone with imminent serious bodily injury with actions or verbal threat.
